About Us
Paul is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court and the state and federal Courts of VA, MD and DC. He has also entered his appearance as litigation and trial counsel, on a case-by-case basis, in the state and federal courts of over a dozen other states nationwide. Paul's clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and individuals. For over 30 years, he has successfully advised his broad scope of clients through consultation and review of contracts and other critical documents, in a preemptive and proactive effort to avoid, if reasonably possible, the financial and personal cost of litigation. However, when an amicable resolution cannot be reached, Paul is a tenacious advocate for his clientts, whether plaintiff or defendant, in trials, appeals, arbitrations and mediations. Paul has successfully guided clients through all manner of disputes arising from contracts, employment issues, trade secrets, non-competition agreements, government contracts and teaming agreements, construction and property issues, qui tam, and in many other general business and personal matters.

Paul formed the Law Offices of Paul W. Mengel III in 2020, after almost thirty years of successful practice in Metro-DC-area law firms. His extensive and varied litigation background enables Paul to provide "big-firm" expertise and experience, but with the benefits of the inherent efficiencies (and lower hourly rates) of a solo practitioner. Having provided counsel to countless individuals and businesses large and small, Paul is sensitive and responsive to the concerns of his clients, including, notably, the expense and stress of litigation, and works hand-in-hand with them in a team effort to provide the results they seek, at a reasonable cost.
